Successes and recommendations
Newsweek
Demostenes has succeeded in occupying leading positions in the language school rankings which have appeared in the press over the past couple of decades, placing it among the very best of such institutions. This is equally true in the case of the ranking organised by the magazine Newsweek since 2002.
Every year Newsweek tests schools in the largest cities in Poland, conducting its research in collaboration with a team of independent methodologists, experienced academic staff. Schools such as Demostenes which obtain above 80% of the maximum score, employ professional teachers, adapt the teaching programme to the needs of students and offer a wealth of teaching materials are schools teaching at a very high level.
Accreditation
Demostenes is the sole language school in Wrocław accredited by the Chief Education Officer of Lower Silesia. The school thus meets the requirements of the Polish educational system, ensuring high quality, effective teaching. Demostenes employs qualified teaching staff, creates and makes available methodological and educational materials, guaranteeing adherence to norms in teaching, and possesses its own premises equipped with a variety of teaching resources. The decision to award accreditation was taken by the Lower Silesian Education Office following examination of the application, the accompanying documentation and the appraisal of the activity of the institution drawn up by the accreditation team. The Chief Education Officer has confirmed that Demostenes Language Centre meets the conditions defined in article 68b, section 3 of the Education System Act of 7 September 1991.
The White List
Demostenes holds the Certificate of Reliability and Diligence issued by Wrocław Chamber of Commerce, this confirming that we enjoy an impeccable reputation. The White List Programme for the Promotion of Reliable Businesses came into being at the initiative of Wrocław Chamber of Commerce, owing to the need for an easily accessible source of information on the honesty and stability of a potential partner. The List presents commercial entities verified according to established principles, entities which have no outstanding public law liabilities and which resolve their commitments to partners without delay. In being entered on the List, Demostenes is shown to be an organisation worthy of trust.
PASE
The Polish Association for Standards in English (PASE) is occupied with the promotion of quality in English language teaching. In 2003 Demostenes obtained the PASE Quality Mark, the sole school in Wrocław to do so.
