Our teachers
In accordance with your preferences, lessons may be taken by either a Polish native or a native speaker of the target language. Teachers at Demostenes are professionals and both the Polish members of staff and those teaching their own language, whether English, Spanish, German or Italian, are very well prepared with regard to ability, knowledge and methodology. In addition, our teachers are also patient and open and able to discern the individual language needs and difficulties of each course participant, adapting their teaching techniques as appropriate. For the best results, we recommend that lessons are conducted in turn by the two types of teacher.
The number of students in a group is established in consultation, to a maximum of 12, although we also organise individual lessons. Groups beginning their learning at a level above elementary undergo a short written and spoken test, this free of charge. In addition, we conduct an individual needs analysis, necessary in order to draw up the programme.
We are able to adapt to your needs also with regard to the intensity of the teaching. While four teaching hours per week, organised into two lessons of two hours each, is the standard proposal, lessons may take place more frequently, with this accompanied by a reduction in price. Lessons may be conducted at the office of your firm or at the Centre.
At the conclusion of each semester the students receive individual progress reports, and at the end of the course certificates: as a private educational institution registered with the Education Office, Demostenes enjoys this right. Students preparing for international examinations first take mock versions; 100% of those allowed to sit the examinations pass with a positive result, though it is worth noting that these are all students participating in the course regularly. Each of our new students are motivated for the work, which must bring effects. Course participants are also able to assess their teachers by means of anonymous questionnaires.
